Who is the 2010 richest people in China ?

Hurun Research Institute through Hurun Report on October 12, 2010 released the Hurun Rich List 2010, the annual ranking of the richest individuals in China. Ranked about 1,363 individuals with personal wealth of US$150 million, it put Zong Qinghou & family at the top of #1 with US$ 12 billion wealth.

Zong Qinghou, born 1945 is the founder and CEO of the Hangzhou Wahaha group, the leading beverage company in China.

As reported by Telegraph.co.uk on September 29, 2010, Mr Zong founded Wahaha, which means "Laughing Baby" in Chinese, in 1986 as a small grocery shop in a school in the eastern city of Hangzhou. This year the company, which is privately held, announced a sales target of 70bn yuan. Wahaha's fruit-flavored milk drinks have become staple products. Spotted at the second place was Li Li & family with the moneybags of US$6 billion. He and his wife Li Tan along with her cousin Shan Yu were the founders of Shenzhen Hepalink Pharmaceutical Co. in 1998 and went public in May 2010.

As reported by Bloomberg on May 6, 2010, Hepalink, the world's biggest maker of the blood-thinner heparin, climbed to 175.17 yuan on the Shenzhen stock exchange from its initial public offer price of 148 yuan. Today's 18 percent gain values Goldman's stake, bought for $4.9 million in 2007, at more than $1 billion. The IPO price was the highest by any company in China, helping Hepalink raise 5.9 billion yuan ($864 million) to expand production capacity to supply clients including Paris-based Sanofi-Aventis SA. According to Hurun Report, this is the first time a pharmaceutical tycoon has made it into the Top Five of the Hurun Rich List.

Following, seated at #3 of the Hurun Rich List with the moneybags of US$ 5.6 billion was Zhang Yin, the founder and director of Nine Dragons Paper Holdings, a recycling company and the biggest paper maker company in China. In October 2006, she became the first woman to top the list of richest people in China published by Hurun Report.

Amongst the top ten, positioned at #4 was Liang Wen'gen of Sany with US$ 5.4 billion of wealth . While Robin Li Yanhong, the founder of China's most popular search engine Baidu.com seated at #5 with US$ 5.3 billion of moneybags.
