The story of Bai Fang Li, a poor pedicab driver who donated 350,000 yuan in his poverty

If a poor donate from his poorness, then he must be an angel, a heaven occupant sent into the world, to teach us for always be grateful and share with others.

This is the story of a poor pedicab driver of Tianjin, China, a generous honorable old man named Bai Fangli, who passed away on September 23, 2005 at the age of 93 in a hospital.

Starting to donate to an orphanage in 1987, when he was 74 years old and retired from his pedicab driving job, after witnessing a poor 6 years old kid who worked hard helping people at the market to earn some money. At 2001,  he gave his latest donation of 500 RMB. China.org.cn wrote that “In 2001, he drove his pedicab to Tianjin YaoHua Middle School, to delivering his last installment of money. Nearly 90 years old, he told the students that he couldn’t work any more. All of the students and teachers were moved to tears”.

Until his latest donation, he had donated 350,000 RMB, supported 300 poor students using the money he earned from his job as a trishaw puller.
