After Paul the Octopus, now peoples are talking about “Keong Racun”

If you got your eyes stuck  into your Twitter account on the morning of July 29, 2010 you may caught the new trending topic that twitter users were talking about.

The Indonesian song "Keong Racun",which means poisonous snail in English was the most talked about topic on Twitter that day. This song is an Indonesian dangdut dance song that was sung by an Indonesian local artist named Lissa. Then, it was lip-synching by two Indonesian, Bandung city teenage girls named Sinta and Jojo. After they video-taped and then posted the song on YouTube, surprisingly lots of people start talking about it.

Not just in Indonesia, even the world was talking about this. The Independent, a British newspaper on 29 July 2010 published an article titled "Current Twitter trends : 'Keong Racun', 'Thor',Raina, Kindle" (Read further) wrote that the Indonesian song "Keong Racun" is the most talked about topic on Twitter on the morning of July 29. Twitter users are going crazy over a YouTube video of two teenage girls (going by the names of Sinta and Jojo) lip syncing to "Keong Racun."

Further, the newspaper ranked Keong Racun at #1 amongst the Top 10 most talked about topics on Twitter on July 29 at 9:30 AM GMT.

While SF Weekly, a weekly newspaper in San Fransisco, California through its SF Weekly Blogs on July 30, 2010 published an article titled "Sinta and Jojo's 'Keong Racun' : Don't You Have Better Things To Do, S.F.?" (read further) wrote "It's about 11 p.m on a blustery Thursday night in July in San Fransisco. What do you think people are twittering about? #WhereThePartyAt? #YellowCabFail? #CallingInSickTomorrow? No. The most trending topic on Twitter late last night in San Francisco-and, we suspect, in much of the world - was the video you see above, of Sinja and Jojo (their YouTube names) lip-synching to the dancey Indonesian pop song "Keong Racun."

And, now the two college girls of Universitas Pasundan from Bandung City of Indonesia become so popular on media. And, so does the song "Keong Racun."
