Who is the most influential man in 2010 ? Maybe you'll say Barack Obama. You may be right may be wrong.

AskMen.com, Men's Online Magazine in its annual polling voted by half a million voters, published recently its "Top 49 Most Influential Men 2010."

In the list, Jon Stewart, widely known as host of The Daily Show, a satirical news program ranked at #1 as the most influential men. Last year he was listed at #13.

Ranked at #4 was Steve Jobs, the big boss of Apple inc, who brings the iPhone, iPod. iPad and MacBook at your front. And following, Kanye West, an American rapper, singer and record producer spotted at #5.

Further, Drew Brees, the quarterback of New Orleans Saints ranked at #6. James Franco, an American actor, film director, screenwriter, film producer, author and painter and well known after rolling as Harry Osborn in the Spider-Man trilogy. He was ranked at #7 by AskMen.com.

While Elon Musk, the co-founder of PayPal, SpaceX and Tesla Motors, Jose Mourinho, the manager of Real Madrid and also the Portuguese football manager, and Graydon Carter, a Canadian-born American journalist and the editor of Vanity Fair ranked at #8 to #10 respectively.

Several famous male celebrities were ranked in the list, such as Eminem at #24, following by Ben Affleck at #25 and Leonardo DiCaprio at #43.

So, where is Barack Obama ? Was he in the list ? Yes, the polling of AskMen.com voters seated him at #21 after Matthew Weiner the creator of Mad Men.

Let’s Pray for Indonesia

Several disaster happened in Indonesia during October 2010.  Starting from the flooding in Wasior on October 4 and the current West Sumatra’s Mentawai island earthquake which caused a local tsunami on October 25 and following by Merapi’s volcanic eruption on October 26. Hundreds of people were killed, hundreds were missing and hundreds lost their dwelling.

Regarding the disaster, peoples around the world expressed their condolence. The Twitter’s Pray for Indonesia hashtag #prayforindonesia becomes one of the trending topics, mostly after the eruption of  Merapi, the most dangerous mountain in Indonesia.

Several Hollywood celebrities posted their tweets to express out their sympathy.

Tom Cruise wrote in his twitter account on October 27 : “Our hearts go out to the people of Merapi & Jakarta Indonesia.” 

Johnny Deep said : “just found out about the earthquake. Everyone, please pray for the people there. #prayforindonesia.”

While KimKardashian posted that :”My heart goes out to all those affected by the quake and the volcano eruption in Indonesia #lifeisprecious #prayforindonesia”

The famous teenager singer Justin Bieber said that : “just found out about the earthquake in Indonesia. Everyone please pray for the people there. #prayforindonesia.”

As reported by Jakarta Globe on October 27, 2010, the US President Barack Obama on Tuesday (26 October) voiced sadness at the lives lost in a tsunami in Indonesia and pledged US help.

“First Lady Michelle (Obama) and I are deeply saddened by the loss of life, injuries, and damage that have occurred as a result of the recent earthquake and tsunami in West Sumatra.” Obama said. Read further

Minka Kelly, Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive 2010

Esquire, the men's magazine which published in the U.S by the Hearst Corporation, in its annual feature of Sexiest Woman Alive 2010 crowned Minka Kelly as the Sexiest Woman Alive 2010.

Minka Dumont Kelly, born in Los Angeles, California on June 24, 1980 is the daughter of Rick Dufay, the former guitarist of the famous music band Aerosmith and a Las Vegas showgirl Maureen Kelly. Kelly was famous after starred in the NBC television series Friday Night Lights as Lyla Garrity from 2006 to 2009.

Who is the 2010 richest people in China ?

Hurun Research Institute through Hurun Report on October 12, 2010 released the Hurun Rich List 2010, the annual ranking of the richest individuals in China. Ranked about 1,363 individuals with personal wealth of US$150 million, it put Zong Qinghou & family at the top of #1 with US$ 12 billion wealth.

Zong Qinghou, born 1945 is the founder and CEO of the Hangzhou Wahaha group, the leading beverage company in China.

As reported by Telegraph.co.uk on September 29, 2010, Mr Zong founded Wahaha, which means "Laughing Baby" in Chinese, in 1986 as a small grocery shop in a school in the eastern city of Hangzhou. This year the company, which is privately held, announced a sales target of 70bn yuan. Wahaha's fruit-flavored milk drinks have become staple products. Spotted at the second place was Li Li & family with the moneybags of US$6 billion. He and his wife Li Tan along with her cousin Shan Yu were the founders of Shenzhen Hepalink Pharmaceutical Co. in 1998 and went public in May 2010.

As reported by Bloomberg on May 6, 2010, Hepalink, the world's biggest maker of the blood-thinner heparin, climbed to 175.17 yuan on the Shenzhen stock exchange from its initial public offer price of 148 yuan. Today's 18 percent gain values Goldman's stake, bought for $4.9 million in 2007, at more than $1 billion. The IPO price was the highest by any company in China, helping Hepalink raise 5.9 billion yuan ($864 million) to expand production capacity to supply clients including Paris-based Sanofi-Aventis SA. According to Hurun Report, this is the first time a pharmaceutical tycoon has made it into the Top Five of the Hurun Rich List.

Following, seated at #3 of the Hurun Rich List with the moneybags of US$ 5.6 billion was Zhang Yin, the founder and director of Nine Dragons Paper Holdings, a recycling company and the biggest paper maker company in China. In October 2006, she became the first woman to top the list of richest people in China published by Hurun Report.

Amongst the top ten, positioned at #4 was Liang Wen'gen of Sany with US$ 5.4 billion of wealth . While Robin Li Yanhong, the founder of China's most popular search engine Baidu.com seated at #5 with US$ 5.3 billion of moneybags.

The story of Bai Fang Li, a poor pedicab driver who donated 350,000 yuan in his poverty

If a poor donate from his poorness, then he must be an angel, a heaven occupant sent into the world, to teach us for always be grateful and share with others.

This is the story of a poor pedicab driver of Tianjin, China, a generous honorable old man named Bai Fangli, who passed away on September 23, 2005 at the age of 93 in a hospital.

Starting to donate to an orphanage in 1987, when he was 74 years old and retired from his pedicab driving job, after witnessing a poor 6 years old kid who worked hard helping people at the market to earn some money. At 2001,  he gave his latest donation of 500 RMB. China.org.cn wrote that “In 2001, he drove his pedicab to Tianjin YaoHua Middle School, to delivering his last installment of money. Nearly 90 years old, he told the students that he couldn’t work any more. All of the students and teachers were moved to tears”.

Until his latest donation, he had donated 350,000 RMB, supported 300 poor students using the money he earned from his job as a trishaw puller.

The 2010 Forbes Power Women (The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women)

Michelle Obama, the first lady of the United States of America was nominated as the World's Most Powerful Women. In its publication of 'The World's 100 Most Powerful Women' on October 6, 2010, Forbes ranked Michelle Obama at #1, following by Irene Rosenfeld, the CEO of Kraft Foods Inc. at the second place. While, Oprah Gail Winfrey, the most famous talk show host spotted at the third place amongst the top ten of the list.

Create A Great First Impression in A Job Interview

Headhunters, career counselors, and professionals engaged in recruiting efforts at Fortune 100 companies all stress the prime importance of creating a great first impression.

Following are some of the most important key business etiquette you should pay close attention to achieve an excellent interview and creating a great first impression :

(a) Arrive a few minutes early. It is important that you not be late. It is also important that you are not too early - more than ten minutes before the appointment is too early and can be seen as rude or too aggressive. Arrive five to ten minutes early, a a sign that you are punctual and that this interview is important to you.

(b) Arrive with a professional-looking pad and pen. It is very important to some interviewers that you take some notes about what they say. Note-taking signifies that you find importance in what the interviewers are saying. However, do not take too many notes, and do not take notes if you believe jotting down a note will be interpreted as trying to bind the interviewer to some statement he or she might not want to be held to later. Use moderation, and before you start to take notes, ask the interviewer whether it is Ok. Getting permission to take notes sets a good tone at the start of the interview.

(c) Appear organized, carrying related documents with you. For instance, if the employer supplied a list of all of the persons you should interview with, take the list with you on the day of your interviews. Also have a few copies of your resume on hand in case any of the interviewers does not have your resume readily available.

(d) Shake hands with the interviewer. When you meet the interviewer, be certain to shake hands with him or her. Keep your handshake firm and steady.

(e) Wait to be asked to take a seat. As a common etiquette practice, you should not move toward a seat and sit down until the interviewer points out where you should be seated and invites you to sit. If the interviewer does not do so right away, you can politely ask, "Where would you like me to sit?" This is a sign of respect.

(f) Use the interviewer's last name. You should treat the exchange as formal, using the interviewer's last name and proper title (Dr., Mrs., Ms., Mr.) unless the interviewer gives you permission to do otherwise.

Windows Live Writer 2011 is available now, but not for Win-XP users

On September 30, 2010, Microsoft published the latest version of Windows Live Writer. Named Windows Live Writer 2011, is part of Windows Live Essentials which also includes Windows Live Messenger, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Mail, Family Safety, Windows Live Mesh, Bing Bar, Messenger Companion, Microsoft Silverlight and also the Outlook Connector Pack. You actually don’t have to install the complete package of the Windows Live Essentials. You can install Live Writer as the stand alone application, apart from another packages of Windows Live Essentials.

But, there is a bad news for a Live Writer user. If you still use Windows XP as your operating system, you won’t be able to try this latest version of Live Writer 2011. It only support Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Vista SP2.

The latest version of Live Writer 2011 (version 15.4.3502.0922) is available at Microsoft Download Center.  If you’re still running Windows XP, you may download the latest compatible version of Live Writer 2009 (version 14.0.8050.1202) from FileHippo.com.
