Some small but important things to do in an interview

Let’s say that this morning you just received a phone call from a company informed you to attend an interview by tomorrow. So, how do you prepare yourself for this important occasion ? Maybe, you will be busy preparing clothes to wear during the interview, go to salon or barbershop for a hair cut or maybe reading a dozen of books about interview tips.

That’s all you have to prepare ? Of course not. There are several things, small things but important enough that you must not miss out before the interview session :

(1) Warming Up. In a tense situation, particularly if this is your first time interview, your voice and the way you speak can be very different from the usual. Your voice can be transformed into impressively indecisive, or on the contrary it may changed to an explosive voice because of the adrenaline that makes you rugged and bad-tempered in appearance. To avoid this, do some warming up before the interview by talking to someone who available to talk to, or if you’re alone at that moment, making a phone call and talking to a friend. This will then lighten the tension so you can speak naturally, clearly and firmly during the interview.

(2) Relax. It will be not enough just relaxing your mind and your hear beat. When sitting in the room, the first thing you have to do is sit comfortably. Second, put yourself in the position that you are offering your skill and capability, not begging for a job. Although the interviewer usually conditioned the situation of the interview as superior and inferior, put yourself in line with the interviewer so that the conversation will go on smoothly. Just be noted to always be polite and maintain the good communication.

(3) Offer your capability. As mentioned at the previous point, you’re offering your skill and capability. In the bargaining situation like this, you have to be smart enough to show out your potentiality. For example, if you have been asked about your weaknesses, express it out but directly add it up with your idea on how to overcome such weaknesses.

(4) Be professional. Your attitude may contribute substantially in the overall scoring. Therefore, although the position that you are applying do not need the attitude of a Public Relation, you still have to smile, greet and staring at the eyes of the interviewer, and you have to do it with your full confidence.

The above points may seem trivial, but apparently, it will really safe your day (Hrd).

Keep away the Job Stress, build the positive thinking at the workplace

Job_Stress_2 Many times we feel uncomfortable at the office, not satisfied with the working environment and loosing the self-reliance of ourselves. Keep holding on with such attitudes eventually will drive a code-red to and ruin our career.

If you always think and act negatively, it will not do you any good. And you will always stacked behind the unfinished works.

The following tips may help you get out of this condition :

1. Open up yourself and you mind. Accept any positive or negative inputs. This will broaden your insight and will help you solve problems easier, because you don’t just focus on a single point of view.

2. Always use the positive words. Avoid the using of any negative of pessimistic words such as “I can not afford” or “I’m weak.” Instead, use the positive words which will build a self motivation to yourself such as “I can” or “I’m definitely capable.”

3. Don’t get influenced with gossip. Rumor or gossip tends to identical as something negative. Don’t pay attention or react immediately to any gossip or negative news. It’s better to just ignore and keep ignoring it. Get it away from your mind.

4. Be grateful. Always be grateful with your life and everything that you already owned because it will keep yourself relax and eliminate stress from your life.

6 Ways to Keep Yourself Motivated

All people possess a common set of needs and wants that, when triggered, activate their respective levels of motivation and their drive to improve upon their current situation. There are six motivational premises that you can apply to bolster your motivation and your chances of getting promoted.

1. You must have reasons for what you want to do. Okay, you want to get yourself promoted. Does the challenge of getting yourself promoted really turn you on ? Is it something that you want to do ? If your answer is no then you’ll lack the motivation to get yourself promoted.

2.  You must have goals and objectives that you’re constantly sorting through and working on every day of the week. Your challenge is to pursue foals that fit within your plan to get yourself promoted.

3.  Your behavior should be directed at goals you believe are good for you, goals that have perceived values for you. You’ll lose your motivation if you pursue goals that have no personal value.

4.  You should not work toward accomplishing a goal unless you believe it is attainable. Most people, no matter how valuable a goal might be to them won’t make the effort to go after it unless they believe that their chances of obtaining it are good. For example, you may fantasize about becoming the company’s president, but won’t do anything about it if you believe that your education is inadequate to reach that goal.

5.  The situation under which a goal is pursued can change its value. The work environment can change the value of goals you’re working on. For example, your boss has told you that if you reach a specific goal, you will be promoted to branch manager. When you reach your goal and discover that you will be branch manager in a remote location, the goal may lose its value to you.

6.  You will only pursue goals if you are motivated, and the reverse is true; if you do not have goals to pursue, you won’t be motivated.

Keep improving yourself. Everybody in today’s business world could be more successful, make more money, and be happier if they really wanted to. Why, then, are so many unable to accomplish this? Somewhere along the line, they have stopped self-improving. They have become complacent and aren’t willing to take the initiative to improve on what they are doing. Even more important, they are not willing to learn how to do new things that will increase their value to their organizations and themselves.

Blogger ‘Blog’s stats’ and ‘Popular Posts’ gadgets are available now

Blogger-64 On August 30, 2010, the blogger team announced the launching of Blogger Gadget, “Blog’s stats’ and ‘Popular Posts’.

Previously, the blogger user may use the ‘Blog’s stats’ directly from the dashboard menu, and now it still there. Moreover, now you can put the ‘Blog’s stats’ gadget as part of your blogger page elements. But, I think the function of this gadget is limited. It doesn’t preview any other information but the page visit counter. If you click on it, it doesn’t bring you to anywhere. You still have to go to the dashboard to get more information of your blog traffic and visitors.

What I like mostly is the ‘Popular Posts’ gadget, which shows the most popular and most visited posts of your blogs.
